(Frequentis)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Vienna-based communication and information software supplier Frequentis has purchased US company L3Harris Technologies\u2019 Air Traffic Management business, in a US$20 million deal.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will see Frequentis acquire L3Harris\u2019 Air Traffic Management (ATM) voice communication systems product line, as well as L3 Harris\u2019 Canadian Harris ATC Solutions Unit.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement will also see Frequentis gain 100 per cent of the shares in two L3Harris subsidiaries, including Australia-based Harris C4i, and Germany-based Harris Orthogon.<\/p>\n<p>Under the deal terms, Frequentis will continue to provide L3Harris with its voice communication products for us in large-scale services businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The transaction is expected be completed in the second half of the year 2021 and is subject to competition clearance and regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n<p>Frequentis said in a statement that the acquisition marks a \u201csignificant step\u201d in its growth strategy, and will \u201ccomplement\u201d its existing portfolio in the civil and defence air traffic management sector, which includes recent acquisitions of Comsoft and ATRiCS.<\/p>\n<p>Norbert Haslacher, CEO of Frequentis, said, \u201cThe acquisition enables us to grow our global customer base. Traffic optimisation is crucial, even and above all, in times of low traffic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is our commitment to an efficient and environmentally sustainable air traffic management environment, driven by digitalisation and automation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Frequentis solutions can be found in over 30,000 operator working positions across 140 countries.
