(Image: Boeing)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Emirates SkyCargo has announced an order for five additional Boeing 777 Freighter aircraft, doubling its order book to 10 of the twin-engine freighters.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will increase Emirates&#8217; total Boeing widebody aircraft orders to 245, including the 10 777 Freighters.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, said: &#8220;Demand for our world-class product and services is growing exponentially, further amplified by Dubai&#8217;s Economic Agenda which aims to double foreign trade and reinforce the city&#8217;s position as a global trading hub.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The new order will boost Emirates SkyCargo&#8217;s main deck cargo capacity by 30 percent by 2026, growing its freighter fleet to 17 aircraft including 777 Freighters, 777 converted freighters and 747 Freighters.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Ahmed added that the airline will conduct a full assessment of its future freighter fleet, reviewing all aircraft options to respond to evolving market demands.<\/p>\n<p>The Boeing 777 Freighter can fly 9,200 kilometers and carry 102 metric tons of freight, more than any other twin-engine cargo jet.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said: &#8220;We are honored that Emirates SkyCargo, renowned for operational excellence and innovation, has once again selected the Boeing 777 Freighter to extend the reach of its global network.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Boeing provides more than 90% of worldwide dedicated freighter capacity, with the 777 Freighter being its best-selling freighter model with over 265 deliveries to date.<\/p>\n<p>The order reflects Emirates SkyCargo&#8217;s confidence in air freight demand and its strategic growth plans to meet increasing cargo volumes through Dubai.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Emirates SkyCargo has announced an order for five additional Boeing 777 Freighter aircraft, doubling its order book to 10 of the twin-engine freighters.
