British Airways has resumed services to Bangkok following a four-year hiatus from the Thai capital.<\/p>\n
The first flight departed London Gatwick on Monday night and landed at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Traditional dancers welcomed passengers with flower garlands and local gifts upon arrival.<\/p>\n
The airline will operate three weekly flights initially, increasing to five times weekly in January and February 2025, before settling at four weekly services in March 2025.<\/p>\n
Passengers can choose between World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and Club World (business class) cabins, with return fares starting from \u00a3718.<\/p>\n
The route resumption coincides with an expanded codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways, offering connections to five holiday destinations including Koh Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.<\/p>\n
“We know that Bangkok has been a highly anticipated route restart for our customers, so we are thrilled to see it firmly back on our global route map,” British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer Neil Chernoff said.<\/p>\n
Tourism Authority of Thailand Director Sadudee Sangnil said the timing aligned with peak season.<\/p>\n
“With so much to experience across Thailand the addition of these flights means we can welcome more people, seeking winter sun, to experience Thailand’s warmth, beauty, and culture,” Sangnil said.<\/p>\n
British Airways will also restart daily Kuala Lumpur services from London Heathrow on April 1, 2025.<\/p>\n
